Born and raised on Kodiak Island, Alaska, Andrea grew up fishing commercially for sockeye salmon. She believes it is within every person's reach to discover the beauty of mathematics.
Rusty first became interested in teaching as a result of studying children and families in French Polynesia. When he’s not in San Diego, you might find him on an island in the Pacific.
Mary Ann is originally from New York. As a child she competed in Irish step dancing competitions and played several sports. She loves the beach, exploring new cities, and sipping the perfect latte on a Sunday morning.
A mother of two and a lifelong learner, Jenn is fueled by new challenges and opportunities. You can find her curled up with a good book, exploring new lands and cultures, hiking, or on the Little League field as a coach and team mom.
A mother of two and a world traveler, you can find her making music with her family, dancing with her dance team, or lost in a good book. She loves to explore and learn through culture, experience, and connection with others.
When Erica is not teaching or coaching pre-service teachers, she enjoys taking long scenic walks, listening to enriching podcasts, sharing meals with friends, reading inspiring books, and exploring new places.
Seeing the inequities in education inspires me to transform mathematics.
Rachel is passionate about her work in the field of Special Education and working towards inclusive practices for all learners. In her free time she enjoys traveling, spending time at the beach, baking, and reading.
ELBA OZAKCAY

Born in Puerto Rico, Elba enjoys open water swimming and dancing to salsa music. As a child, growing up in Puerto Rico, Elba had the opportunity to learn Spanish, English and French. She also speaks Turkish and is learning Portuguese. Elba is passionate about teaching and learning.
Artemisa Perucho-Green is inspired by equity and social justice to drive meaningful change inside and outside of the classroom. She enjoys snuggling up with her daughter to read books upon books, or you can catch up with her while camping in the Anza-Borrego desert exploring the flora and fauna by day and marvelling at the universe at night.
Mother of two and passionate lifelong learner. When she is not teaching she is planning her next trip, playing guitar, learning a new language (currently learning Italian) and enjoying the outdoors.
A mother of three daughters and lover of nature, Olivia is passionate about personal connection and relationships. You can find her on a family road trip, relaxing at the beach, lost in a good book, and watching her girls on the soccer field.

Amanda Datnow is a Professor in the Department of Education Studies and Associate Dean of the Division of Social Sciences at the University of California, San Diego. Her research focuses on educational reform and policy, particularly with regard to issues of equity and the professional lives of educators.

Patrick is a mathematician with an interest in education systems. He was an administrator at the University California Office of the President and State-wide co-director of the California Mathematics Project before starting his own consulting company. He was a senior research scientist at West-Ed and Executive Director of the CalTeach program. Patrick has been involved with national assessment projects, including the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium. He directed the Blueprints project for Illustrative Mathematics. Callahan is interested in global education challenges and has worked with international schools in Singapore, Shanghai, Cape Town, and San Jaun, Puerto Rico.

Dave was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. He is the youngest of two sets of twins and , though educated as an engineer, his true passion is education. He believes that every child (and adult!) can learn mathematics and that every child has the right to a high-quality education regardless of background or circumstance.
Ashley is a writer, yoga teacher, and avid traveller who enjoys all activities outdoors. She is passionate about using verbal, written, and visual communication to connect with widespread groups of people who are interested in transforming the American education system.
